I am a Jungian analyst and UKCP accredited psychotherapist. I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period if that is more suitable.
I am also able to offer Jungian analysis at greater depth (up to 4 sessions a week), as well as clinical supervision to other professionals and trainee therapists.
My practice is based in Horley, Surrey, within easy reach of the station and offers convenient parking.
Jungian Analysis is a specialised form of psychotherapy that aims to move an individual to a greater sense of wholeness through increasing their awareness of the unconscious issues that influence their behaviour.
With greater awareness of these issues comes an increased sense of well-being, which impacts on how we relate to ourselves and to others.
Of course there will be issues remaining from childhood but also hidden abilities, talents and surprises to be found. I don't just aim to relieve some difficult symptoms but also encourage the exploration of WHY there is suffering in the first place. This often leads to a complete disappearance of the symptoms but also the emergence of a renewed Self.
I have been working as a psychotherapist in the NHS and in private practice since 1992. Following my psychology degree, I trained in Jungian analysis with the BAP (British Association of Psychotherapists) and qualified in 1992.
I have also undergone training in group work with the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) and supervision with the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP). I have worked in agency and psychiatric settings as well as being involved in the training and supervision of others.
I am on the International Register of the International Association of Analytical Psychologists (IAAP) and have recently been appointed as a training analyst by the C G Jung Institute in Zurich for their international training courses.
I adhere to the UKCP code of ethics and I am fully insured.
Generally individual weekly sessions cost £50.00 However, I offer a lower fee if you wish to come for more than one session a week. I have been supervising trainee therapists for 20 years and offer a reduced fee for trainees. If you are facing extreme hardship I can also negotiate a lower fee.
How long will it take?
It depends very much on what you want to achieve. Short term work is helpful in focusing on specific issues whereas longer term work enables us to work with more deep-seated issues.
